No age is too young -
If you think child is too young to try
smoking, think again. In fact, over 20 percent of high school
students smoke a cigarette before the age of thirteen.
Almost 11% of 8th
graders, about 18% of 10th graders and nearly 27% of 12th graders
reportedly smoke -- that's way too many. Remember, now is the time
to speak to your kids to help prevent them from smoking cigarettes,
before there is any peer pressure.
It’s never too
early to talk to your children about not smoking.
Parents should continue to have conversations on an ongoing basis.
Discussions about the hazards of smoking should never stop. Your
children are always at risk.

Addiction -
The younger
a person is when they start smoking, the greater chance they have to
become strongly addicted to nicotine.
Signs of addition
can emerge within days after they become "casual" smokers. These
signs include feeling nervous or irritable and having strong urges
to smoke.
