Cigarette Smoking and Home

Dear Sir/Madame,

My husband and I are about to buy a home that reeks of tobacco.  I have spent a lot of time reading articles regarding the elimination of smoke odor.  Our intention is to rip up rugs, have the house professionally cleaned and repainted with Kiltz, and address the duct system..... Any other thoughts?

In addition,  do you think we need to purchase an air purifier (w/ activated carbon) ?   If so, do you have any recommendations of effective ones?

            Thank you for your attention.

             Mrs. L. D.
