FACT:
Over 1.5 million American
children, some as young as 8 years old, start smoking each year! The tobacco
industry spends over $15.4 billion, or over $28 per teenager, (vs. less than $1
per child by the government) a year in the USA alone advertising their deadly products,
with the majority of it reaching our kids. The alarming news
reported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is
that for the first time in many years, smoking among high school students did
not go down and held at 23% in 2005 due to the increase in tobacco advertising and
promotions by discounting or subsidizing the cost of each pack at the retail level. i.e. buy one and get one free, double packaging, etc.
FACT:
Education and awareness are the
most effective tools in curbing tobacco use. We must invest our tax-deductible
donations in our children's future to increase their information,
education and awareness on the hazards and cost of smoking and tobacco use to prevent them from a lifelong enslavement to
smoking and tobacco use.
FACT:
Tax-deductible donations are the best way to give back to the your community
because you decide where your tax money should be spent.*
On June 25th 2006, Warren Buffett, the legendary investor and philanthropist,
gave $31 billion of his own money away to charities, inspiring all of us to give
because: No amount is too small to give - just donate $1
or $2 a week.
FACT:
You too can donate! Helping and encouraging nearly 50 million American smokers
(our loved ones) quit smoking and educating our children not to start smoking or
use tobacco requires everyone's involvement as a volunteer and/or donor to help this most important cause of the 21st century.
Your tax-deductible donations can help us further this mission and
provide you with an opportunity to reduce your taxes.
