Health, progress and success without smoking and tobacco use!

Tobacco use is the leading cause of preventable death and disease, accounting for more than 440,000 deaths and millions of cancer and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) cases every year in the USA alone.

  • Smoking should be a parent’s greatest concern because it’s associated with other risky behaviors and health dangers

  • Every day, nearly 4,400 (over 1.5 million) kids as young as 8 years old, start smoking in the United States alone

  • More than 6.4 million children living today will die prematurely because of a decision they will make as adolescents to smoke cigarettes

  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) will be the 3rd-largest cause of death worldwide by 2020

  • It is estimated that nearly 1 billion people will be killed by tobacco and many hundred millions more will be sickened by the end of this century alone

  • 90% of lung cancer deaths are caused by smoking

  • 1 in 4, or nearly 50 million, Americans smoke endangering their health and the wellbeing of their loved ones around them - (more)

  • 1 in 5, or nearly 1.3 billion, people worldwide smoke endangering their health and the wellbeing of their loved ones around them

  • 3 in 4, or nearly 250 million, non-smoking Americans urgently want to help their loved ones quit smoking to save their health and wealth

  • Every day, 32 million American smokers desperately want to quit and need help and effective ways to quit and stay quit

  • A new study confirms that nicotine levels in cigarettes have increased since 1997. Higher nicotine levels make it easier to get hooked on cigarettes and harder to quit (more)

  • If you’re a parent who smokes, you could be jeopardizing more than just your own health. Kids exposed to secondhand smoke are at increased risk for failing tests in school, suggests a new study from Temple University. In fact, smoke exposure at home decreased the odds for passing standardized tests by as much as 30% among kids ages 16 to 18 participating in the study.

Solution
Education, Awareness, Prevention and Cessation
- to effectively address and help our citizens to save their health and wealth, we need an effective, community-based, community-supported nonprofit organization that is solely dedicated to this most-important cause, as the American Cancer Society is for cancer.

Smoke Free Society Education Corporation (SFSEC) is committed to making education and awareness the key tools to curb smoking and tobacco use by providing
a tangible, first-of-its-kind research and education facility, a permanent campus-style, think-tank center in Palm Beach County/South Florida to provide, host and facilitate ongoing seminars, conferences and conventions to bring together smoking cessation professionals (i.e. educators, teachers, physicians, psychologists, substance abuse specialists, etc.) and other experts from around the state, nation and the world to research, study, share and exchange ideas and facts to develop the framework and standards to bring about effective solutions to:

  • Develop and provide the most-effective educational and prevention programs to help educate our precious children to prevent them from a lifelong enslavement to smoking and tobacco use and;

  • Develop the most-effective means and tools to educate smokers to better understand the nature of their smoking habit and nicotine addiction and how to more successfully quit and stay smoke free and;

  • Educate the general public on the hazards of smoking and address issues such as smoke-free workplace and public laws and their implementation without creating millions of second-class citizens – smokers. And find solutions and guidelines to help with the transition from a smoking to a nonsmoking workplace and society and;

  • Put solutions back into the community that further encourage community support, involvement and private donations for this most important cause of the 21st century that can tremendously improve and promote a healthy lifestyle that can lead to increased productivity, cost savings and eliminating disability, disease and death caused by smoking and tobacco use and;

  • Nationally, to provide facilities in conjunction with local communities, schools, other civic and governmental institutions to further expand its outreach.
